Call for Evidence - ACM Cladding

The Private Residential Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) Cladding Remediation Fund.

The Executive is committed to ensuring that residents are safe and feel safe in their homes. Work carried out in other parts of the UK has shown that unsafe Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding systems on buildings over 18m represents an unparalleled fire risk and are not safe. The Executive has therefore approved the establishment of a fund to remediate unsafe ACM cladding on high rise residential buildings over 18m so that residents can have peace of mind.

The Private Residential ACM Cladding Remediation Fund will cover the cost of the replacement of unsafe ACM cladding on private residential buildings over 18m in height, with an allowable tolerance of 30cm under this height. Funding will be provided to responsible entities who will be responsible for remediation, but the fund will be for the benefit of leaseholders who would otherwise incur the cost through service charge arrangements. Full details can be found below.

This call is also open to responsible entities for buildings over 18m in height that have unsafe non-ACM cladding materials, as a scoping exercise to establish the extent of affected buildings. The Executive will consider the need for a non-ACM cladding remediation fund when this information is known. Details on how you can contribute to this call for evidence can be found using the non-ACM link below.

This call for evidence will remain open until midnight on 31 October 2021.
