Framework agreement for NI public sector vehicle and plant hire

CPD recently awarded a new framework agreement for the hire of vehicles, plant and equipment for the Northern Ireland public sector.

Project background

CPD Supplies and Services Division worked closely with key stakeholders in the Department for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), and the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) to establish this framework agreement.

The multi-supplier framework agreement will be used to hire a wide range of heavy vehicles, plant and equipment to various locations. The framework includes the option of hiring suitably qualified drivers or equipment operators to provide the services required.

Key users of the framework agreement will be Rivers Agency and the Forest Service NI, however the framework agreement is available for use by all bodies covered by NI Procurement Policy.

The estimated annual value of the framework agreement is £1.5m. All of the suppliers on the framework are based in Northern Ireland.

By establishing this collaborative arrangement, rather than individual organisations having separate contracts in place, savings are estimated at £1.3m over the lifetime of the framework agreement.
