CPD role in procurement policy

The CPD Policy & Performance Division supports the Procurement Board in developing and coordinating public procurement policy.

Role of Policy & Performance Division

Our division supports the Procurement Board in developing and coordinating public procurement policy in Northern Ireland. We develop the policy framework and best practice that public sector bodies follow.

Part of our role is engage with Crown Commercial Service and the NI Office in Brussels to stay up-to-date with EU directives impacting on public procurement.

We provide the eTendersNI portal for the NI public sector to advertise their tender opportunities. We also engage with business network organisations to share information about public procurement to local enterprises.

We work in partnership with InterTradeIreland to provide events where suppliers can meet with CPD staff and ask questions in person - this can be really helpful for enterprises who are new to public sector tendering.
