A lot of media attention and publicity has recently focussed on the importance of looking after our physical and mental health during the lockdown. Many people believe we also have a spiritual dimension and may wish to draw on support from faith and belief places of worship and communities in such times.

Although social distancing has impacted on the usual places of worship and communities,  many faith and belief groups have adapted and found novel ways to practice their faith and beliefs using a variety of technologies such as YouTube channels, Zoom etc.  If you already practice a particular religion or have a particular set of beliefs you may already be aware of the arrangements in place in your local community.

However if you are not part of an organised religion or philosophy but you have questions about the role of faith and beliefs during this time or if you want more find out more information, the attached list, while not exhaustive might be of some help.

Although the NICS does not endorse or promote any particular faith or belief system, it is committed to being an inclusive employer working to ensure those with faith or beliefs and those without can participate fully in our workplaces. NICS will therefore support civil servants from any religion as well as those who have particular philosophical beliefs and those with none.
