    SFD oversees the development and delivery of the flagship EU/UK PEACE PLUS programme.

    Overview

    SFD oversees the development and delivery of the flagship EU/UK PEACE PLUS programme.

    SFD works with the UK Government and the European Commission on the implementation of EU Structural & Investment Fund Programmes relating to NI; and provides advice and guidance to Northern Ireland Departments and the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) on issues related to EU Structural & Investment Funds Programmes management.     SFD provides appropriate input to the Northern Ireland Public Expenditure process as it relates to the delivery of EU Structural & Investment Funds Programmes; joint sponsorship (with the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, Dublin) of the Special EU Programmes Body; and provision of briefing to the Minister on EU Structural & Investment Fund issues.

    SFD leads the cross-departmental engagement on future funding and finance policy including the loss and replacement of EU Funding and engagement on funding streams under the UKG Levelling Up agenda.     SFD leads on and manages the departmental response to EU Exit & managing divergence including the response to the Retained EU Law Bill, aspects of the Protocol and Windsor Framework that are within the Department's remit and act as departmental lead on Article 2 and Article 16 of the Protocol.

    Structure

    The division consists of three branches: North South Programmes Policy Unit; Funding Policy; and EU Exit and Structural Funds Policy & Finance Team.
