The Buy Social Construction Model

Buy Social construction model

The Buy Social construction model has been developed by the Strategic Investment Board and CPD. The process of development included consultation with the NICS departments, the construction Centres of Procurement Expertise (CoPE) and representatives from the local construction industry. 

The model came into operation in April 2016 - setting a contractual requirement for a quantifiable number of targeted recruitment and training opportunities for New Entrant trainees, to be provided in government construction contracts.

Supply of metered electricity to public sector buildings

Contract Information 

The initial call-off contract runs to 30 September 2017. This initial call off period was designed to correlate with the scheduled introduction of the Integrated Single Electricity Market (ISEM). If the introduction of ISEM is delayed, the Authority and Clients may extend those contracts until the commencement of the ISEM, or elect to reopen competition for call-off contracts which will have supplies delivered under both SEM and ISEM.
