    Date published: 21 May 2025

    Last updated: 10 June 2025

The Department has developed its first annual Climate and Sustainability Action Plan (CSAP).

The 2025/26 DoF CSAP directly links to the Social Value Strategy 2025-2027 which was published on 1 May 2025.

The CSAP is the overarching plan for delivering the ‘Delivering Climate Action’ pillar within the Social Value (SV) Strategy, detailing the steps to fulfil our climate action commitments for 2025/26. It contains 38 actions under 4 themes of ‘mitigation’, ‘adaptation’, ‘mitigation/adaptation’, and ‘behavioural change’.

The actions included in the CSAP are from a wide range of business areas covering the work of the Department. The CSAP also contains a number of actions that DoF will deliver in the coming years, but which will be progressed in 2025/26. These include the installation of a PV Array (Solar Farm) at Stormont Estate and the ongoing commitment to a leaner Civil Service Office Estate.

The plan will be monitored through biannual progress reports to the Departmental Board.

If you have any comments or queries on the CSAP, you can contact us at ClimateChange@finance-ni.gov.uk.
