The Inefficiency Performance policy outlines the formal action to be taken to deal with employees’ unsatisfactory performance. This action is initiated when all informal action has exhausted in accordance with the performance management policy.
The policy has been revised to complete the overall performance management end-to-end process review work, and in particular to address the consequential changes to this formal Inefficiency policy due to changes such as the movement to a two box performance rating system.
One of the key objectives of the policy revision is to reduce the overall process timeline for the benefit of the employee and the department. It also emphasises the support mechanisms available at each step of this formal process.
Consultation took place with internal stakeholders, including Trade Union Side.
