Climate and Sustainability Plan 2026-27

The Department has developed its second annual Climate and Sustainability Action Plan (CSAP).
The 2026/27 plan sets out 31 actions across five key themes: Finance; Staff & HR; Assets & Estates; Professional Services; and Other Enabling Support, reflecting the Department’s continued commitment to embedding climate and sustainability into all areas of its work.
Of the 31 actions, four have been taken from the Delivering Climate Action Pillar of the Social Value Strategy 2025-2027, and 13 have been rolled over from the 2025/26 Climate Sustainability Plan.
The actions included in the CSAP are from a wide range of business areas covering the work of the Department. As an enabling department, DoF plays a key role in providing the guidance, frameworks and assurance that help embed climate considerations across government policy, investment and procurement.
The plan was developed by the Climate Working Group and was approved by Departmental Board on 15 April 2026.
The plan will be monitored through biannual progress reports to the Departmental Board.
