    Consultation description

The consultation will last for a period of twelve weeks, during which you are invited to submit views on the future direction of business rates within Northern Ireland. The review also seeks views on alternative forms of business taxation as either replacements or supplements to the current rating system.

The formal consultation on the issues lasted for 12 weeks, and ended on 25 January 2016. The Department has now published the responses to this exercise.

If you require any further information about this consultation exercise you should contact Rating Policy Division on (028 9090 9325). The consultation paper can be made available, on request, in alternative languages and formats.

It is intended to publish a summary of the views expressed during consultation, following completion of the consultation process. This, along with all individual and organisational consultation responses, will be published on the DFP website (see above). The Department can only refuse to disclose information in exceptional circumstances.
