NICS pay deal secured

Finance Minister Máirtín Ó Muilleoir has announced the agreement of a pay deal for non-industrial NICS staff.
Following successful negotiation with Trade Union side, the agreed pay award provides a one percent uplift on top of pay scale progression.
The Minister said: “It is important that the contribution of civil servants is recognised and rewarded. Despite considerable pressure on our budget I am pleased that we have been able to provide a one percent pay rise.”
A key element of the pay award is the abolition of the bottom two points of the Administrative Assistant pay scale.
The Minister said: “I am also pleased to announce that we have moved to address low pay with a significant boost to Administrative Assistant pay. The minimum salary has increased from £16,300 to £17,352, an increase of over £1,000 for the lowest paid staff."
