The Department of Finance carried out a public consultation from 25 October 2021 to 19 December 2021 on proposals to uplift the fees in Schedules 1 and 2 to the Building (Prescribed Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997 (the Fees Regulations). This consultation also served as a call for evidence to inform a wholesale review of the Fees Regulations, including whether respondents agreed to a ‘user pays’ principle for funding enforcement of the Building Regulations.
