The Civil Service: Supporting Carers has been developed as part of the Civil Service’s commitment to being a supportive and inclusive employer and in recognition of the challenges many colleagues face juggling caring and work responsibilities and the additional support they may need.
The guide aims to raise awareness of the support available to carers and to improve understanding across the organisation of their needs and how we can better support them in our workplaces.
The guide has been developed by People and Organisational Development through engagement with Diversity Champions Network, staff networks, colleagues with lived experience and external stakeholders including the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI).
