Employee Pension Contribution Rates from 1 September 2025 and applicable Salary Bands

Employee Pension Notice dated 13 June 2025 announced the publication of the response to the consultation on adjustments to employee contribution rates for the Northern Ireland Civil Service Pension Scheme and set out the new contribution percentage rates effective from 01 July 2025. It also indicated that the Department would also be making the additional necessary changes to uplift the salary band thresholds for member contributions by a further 6% before the implementation of the 2025 (6%) pay award, thus ensuring members are not disadvantaged by the implementation of the pay award.
This notice provides you with information on your employee pension contributions payable from 1 September 2025 if you are an active member of the NICS pension scheme arrangements (It does not apply if you are in the Partnership Scheme).
