  • Domestic valuation

    Topics:
    • Property valuation
Land & Property Services (LPS) provides a valuation for all properties in Northern Ireland which are subject to rates.

More information on the valuation of domestic property is available on nidirect.

    How domestic property is valued

All domestic property in Northern Ireland is assessed on the basis of its capital value. The current valuation list for domestic properties became operative on 1 April 2007 and is based on capital values as at 1 January 2005.

Each domestic property has been valued in line with comparable properties in its locality.

A property is considered to be domestic if it is used for the purposes of a dwelling. Ancillary garages and stores used in conjunction with a dwelling may also be included in the capital value assessment of a domestic property.

You can find your capital value assessment on your rate bill or you can use the link below to check the assessment of an individual domestic property. You can also use this link to make an on line application to have your valuation reviewed if you feel that your assessment requires to be reviewed.

To make an application you can search for your property by postcode, via the map or by using the advanced search option. This will bring up the address and valuation of the property. Once you find your property you can use this service to apply for a valuation review.
