Climate and Covid Inquiry Division (CCID)
Helen Toner is the Acting Director of Climate and Covid Inquiry Division (CCID).
Overview
Climate and Covid Inquiry Division (CCID) is responsible for leading, supporting and coordinating the departmental input to the Green Growth agenda and Climate Action Plan. This includes providing strategic economic and policy advice to key stakeholders on meeting our obligations under the Climate Change Act (Northern Ireland) 2022; contributing to strategic policy in respect of Green Growth, Climate Change and Energy Strategies; and knowledge sharing across the Department ensuring that key DoF guidance and commissioning frameworks maximise the opportunity for wider public value including sustainability. CCID also leads on the departmental response to the UK Covid-19 Inquiry, ensuring the Department meets its statutory responsibilities in responding to the UK wide Covid- 9 Inquiry. This includes providing strategic advice to the Department and written and/or oral evidence, including disclosures, to the Public Inquiry Team; and contributing to knowledge sharing of issues / lessons arising from the Inquiry. In addition, CCID has a role in developing the policy directions to ensure the effective allocation of dormant funds under the Dormant Bank and Building Society Accounts Act 2008 and more recent Dormant Assets Act 2022.
Structure
The division consists of two branches - Climate, Economics and Governance Unit (CEG) and the Covid-19 Inquiry Team.
