Contract for auction services for public sector vehicles and associated equipment
CPD recently awarded a contract to facilitate the sale, by means of public auction, of NI public sector vehicles and associated garage equipment.
Project background
Throughout the NI public sector, vehicles are used for business purposes.
These include commercial vehicles for transporting supplies, vehicles used by emergency services, and vehicles for transporting civilians.
When these vehicles and their associated equipment (e.g. engine components) reach a certain age or condition, they are usually sent for auction.
There are also vehicles seized each year through proceeds of crime, which must be disposed of.
CPD Supplies and Services Division recently awarded this four-year contract to an auctioneer for the sale, by means of public auction, of motor vehicles and associated garage equipment.
This contract can be used by any of the organisations which can participate in CPD frameworks.
An estimated 655 vehicles are expected to be auctioned through the contract each year - generating annual revenue of around £3m.
