Finance Minister, Conor Murphy today confirmed £45 million of funding for mental health, deprivation and broadband in 2020-21.
Making the announcement, Minister Murphy said: “I have been continually pressing Treasury over recent months for clarity on Confidence and Supply funding.
“I am pleased Treasury has now ended this uncertainty and delighted that this year’s allocation has been provided.
“£45 million will be made available in this financial year for mental health, deprivation and broadband.
“Given the importance of these areas the Executive had made its own funding available in Budget 2020-21 to avoid any adverse impact from the uncertainty around Confidence and Supply Funding.
“This means there will now be £30 million Resource and £15 million Capital available for the Executive to allocate to its own priorities.”
Breakdown of the £45 million is as follows; £10 million for mental health, £20 million for severely deprived areas and £15 million for broadband.
Notes to editors:
- The remaining Confidence & Supply agreement amount totalled £240 million. A further £40 million for tackling severe deprivation, £20 million for mental health and £135 million for Broadband is yet to be provided.
