This DEO announces the ASLC salary bands effective from 1 April 2009. These rates and bands will apply to all Classic, Classic Plus, Premium and Nuvos members of the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme (Northern Ireland).
To remind Departments and high earner members of the NICS that all applications to register for transitional protection against the Lifetime Allowance (LTA) tax charge must be made to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) by 5 April
1. DEO 35/2008 advised Departments that under the new tax rules for pensions introduced on 6 April 2006 PCSPS(NI) members on career break who want to continue to make payments to their added years contract can do so during their absence.
1. DEO 06/2008 reminded Departments of the introduction of Added Pension for all members of classic, classic plus and premium from 1 March 2008, and the final deadline for the receipt of new Added Years contracts, which is 29 February 2008.
This DEO provides confirmation of the removal of the NICS default age of retirement at age 65, with effect from 1 September 2008, and advises Departments of the action to be taken to ensure all staff are covered by the revised procedures.
