Note to Practitioners 1/2024 - Data cleanse project
This note was published on 23 October 2024.
Land Registry anticipates that it will be in a position to commence the design, build and implementation of a new IT solution to replace LandWeb in Spring/ Summer 2025.
In preparation for this, Land Registry are undertaking an exercise to cleanse administrative clerical errors on the Land Registry and Statutory Charges registers. This project will include amending errors such as incorrect headers on document entry types, deletion of brackets where no data has been inserted and the correction of spelling mistakes in Government Departments.
Practitioners are advised that folio, priority and statutory charges searches may state “Catch-up” on the results to indicate that a data cleanse is in progress.
In this event, Solicitors may contact the Land Registry at LandRegistry.CounterEnquiry@finance-ni.gov.uk and an overview of the reason for the data cleanse will be provided. It is anticipated that queries will be responded to within a 48 hour window so as to cause minimal disruption to practitioners.
