The Pension Scheme Tax Reference (PSTR) for Northern Ireland Civil Service Pensions Schemes
The Pension Scheme Tax Reference (PSTR) is different for each scheme. If you are using Scheme Pays for both schemes, then you will need to inform HMRC of both PSTRs.
- for the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme (Northern Ireland), it is 00329686RF
- for the alpha pension scheme, it is 00820865RA
Members affected by the 2015 Remedy (McCloud) who have alpha service within the remedy period (1 April 2015 - 31 March 2022) will not automatically receive a Pensions Savings Statement if they breach their Annual Allowance limit. Revised Pension Savings Statments for the 2022/23 year will be issued by 6 October 2024.
For members not affected by roll-back, we aim to issue Pension Savings Statements (if applicable) by 6 October 2023 which is a legislative timeline given by HMRC.
