Statistics and research

NISRA is an agency of the Department of Finance and the principal source of official statistics and social research on Northern Ireland. These statistics and research inform public policy and associated debate in the wider society.

Land & Property Services (LPS) receive information from Building Control in each council in Northern Ireland (NI). This information contains the number of recorded new dwellings (houses and apartments) started and completed.

Land & Property Services (LPS) provides a valuation for all properties in Northern Ireland which are subject to rates, this includes providing and maintaining a valuation list for all properties in Northern Ireland - domestic and non domestic.

Land & Property Services (LPS) process applications from ratepayers for Lone Pensioner Allowance (LPA) and Disabled Person's Allowance (DPA). These statistics provide information on the number of persons and net amount awarded each year in Northern Ireland.

The Office for National Statistics Country and Regional Public Sector Finances publication provides users with information on what public sector expenditure has occurred, what public sector revenue has been raised, and the balance between expenditure and revenue in each country and region of the UK, on an April to March financial year basis.
