2015 Remedy (McCloud) - Contingent Decisions
The McCloud Remedy allows some members to ask for certain pension decisions made during the Remedy Period to be reviewed.
What is a Contingent Decision?
A contingent decision is a decision taken by a member during the Remedy Period (1 April 2015 to 31 March 2022) that may have been different had it not been for the discrimination identified in the McCloud judgment.

Opted-Out Service Contingent Decisions
Members who opted out of the Civil Service pension arrangements during the Remedy Period may be eligible to apply to buy back opted-out service.
The application process for opted-out service contingent decisions is now open.

PCSPS(NI) Partial Retirement Contingent Decisions
Civil Service Pensions (NI) is developing an application process for certain members who took PCSPS(NI) partial retirement during the Remedy Period.
There is no action for members to take at this stage.
Further information on eligibility, the application process and relevant timescales will be published on the webpage below once arrangements have been finalised.
